The inviting four-story, 127,000 SF library serves as the major monumental hub and entrance portal into the university. Aside from facilities to house 500,000 volumes, the library also contains independently accessed computer labs and a 24-hour study room. A large independently accessed multipurpose space opens off a skylit lobby for receptions, lectures, and presentations. The structure houses administrative offices for the Eastern Connecticut Library Association, and a variety of specialized support facilities. The classically inspired brick and steel structure is a major campus landmark, anchoring the academic mall uniting the North and South campuses.
