URI Barlow Hall |
|
Kingston, Rhode Island |
The 50,000 s.f., five-story Barlow Hall is the first of six existing residential halls to be renovated as part of the new Freshman Village concept at the Kingston Campus of the University of Rhode Island. The schedule of the renovation is a one semester, one summer roll over concept that allows all six buildings to be renovated in four years and never puts one residence hall out of commission for more than one regular semester. New architectural interventions invigorate the otherwise bland elevations of existing structures. Articulation of outdoor spaces between the buildings create an attractive and exciting Freshman Residential Village.
