Set on a hill, this new residence was designed to take advantage of an extraordinary 120° panorama of the Connecticut River Valley. The program for the residence, which includes requirements for large scale entertaining; frequent visits by three grown children and their families, and a desire to have a comfortable, manageable living space when home alone, is evident in the plan.

The Master bedroom, study, dining room and family kitchen are arrayed along a central spine, celebrating the fabulous North and West views. A two-story living room and conservatory take advantage of South light and a sheltered terrace can be closed off with glass doors from the central spine when not in use, though they still contribute a sense of space and light to the daily living experience.
