Du Bose Associates, Inc. Architects with designer Helen Theurkauf, worked with the client to transform this dark house, located on a steep and heavily wooded, but dramatic and attractive site, into flowing spaces effused with a welcoming combination of natural and artificial light. The combination of uninterrupted wall space, inviting colors and light-filled atmosphere provided the ideal environment for the owners art, and the desired added comfort. The final and delightful surprise was the effect of the renovated setting on the art, clocks and furnishings: objects that had been in the house for many years were now suddenly noted and appreciated as if for the first time.
