The concept of this addition/renovation to an early 1940s telescope cape was to respect the design integrity of the original, while completely transforming the interior plan and garden facade to relate to contemporary lifestyles and a love of the outdoors. The additions add a tandem two-car garage to the original one-car stall. A new master-bedroom suite nestles under the eaves over the garages with large east (bathroom) and west (bedroom) windows viewing the landscape. Key to the addition/renovation is the Garden Room, which provides a focus for virtually all the rooms of the original house and provides a natural and visual link to the gardens beyond.
