This project complements and enhances the historic and architectural significant 1754 Hale/Rankin house in Glastonbury, CT in which the Owner has lived for 32 years. The wood framework of the conservatory resembles that of a post and beam structure. All voids between the post were filled with 6 ft. high double-hung windows to maximize the openness desired. The double-hung windows have single-pane, true-divided lights, in keeping with the existing house. The glass roofs are ½ in. tempered glass individually sized panels set in a wood framework with glazing beads and white vinyl-clad wood stops. The floor of the conservatory is cut slate set directly over an earth floor, thereby creating a look and feel of an outdoor patio.
