The purpose of this Master Plan Exercise was to examine the current Tunxis Community College Site and buildings to determine the potential for expansion to meet identified space needs that would double current building area on the site. The goal was to make recommendations for the placement, size, configuration, construction, sequencing and cost of new facilities to house these needs. In addition to satisfying the need for more space, other top priorities of the college were to increase visibility at the corner of Routes 6 and 177, and to provide state-of-the-art laboratory and academic space to fulfill the College’s mission.
