Hartford’s Renovations to the Trolley Barn Building at 331 Wethersfield Avenue in Hartford consolidates social service programs currently offered by this non-profit social service agency in Hartford’s South End. The building also houses Aid-To -Artisans, a supplier of artwork to corporations and institutions. The Trolley Barn Building is a National Historic Register structure that originally was a repair depot for Hartford’s Trolley system. The high bay repair/ warehouse space that formerly housed trolleys was later known as the Hartford Arena and housed many of Willie Pep’s Boxing matches. This high bay area conveys a village-like atmosphere with a community space, a library, computer carrels, a gym, and a variety of meeting spaces for counseling.
